ActiveHomeScreen is an independent “homebrew” application for Palm Pre and is NOT developed by Palm Inc.

As any other apps installed on your Pre, AHS can be closed or uninstalled anytime you’d like – no changes are ever made to your OS. It’s the same type of software as Tweed, Where or any other program for Palm Pre.
AHS can be easily installed via USB. No rooting is required. More about USB installation: here.

Dropping a little coin in the bucket, keep up the good work, it looks great, and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it!

I think you should really consider touching the code behind pre’s home button. Would’nt it be great if you could toggle between the cards view (pre’s homepage) and this awesome Active Home Screen app? I bet people would donate for this feature only, so if you don’t think it’s important yourself, you could have someone else do it with that extra money, perhaps? Hope to hear your thoughts about it.

yea this home page looks so sick, can the user choose what apps to put in the new launcher? and does it operate the same as the generic one? i cant wait to get this on my phone.

@Michael,
To my knoweledge the launcher is static atm with hardcoded apps in it. In the future it is going to be scrollable (to left and right, i think)and you can configurate the apps shown in there.

hi, this app is great! love the various widgets, but in regards to the calendar app, can you ensure that the time in which the various events are scheduled is also listed? i.e. 12:00pm lunch with jenn 2:30pm meeting i noticed the screenshots do not have them, and it would be very valuable to have that info right up front. great work!!

ps: what is the battery drain with these 10 min updates? makes sense for a computer that’s plugged in, but with the battery life on the pre as it is, i’m already mindful of getting rid of all cards as a habit to save battery.

Re: “ALL updates are now on 10 min timer – news, weather, calendar/date icon”
Is there a way to adjust how often the updates are done?

Only thing I noticed so far: when email notification is present, the news headlines are obscured utterly. I tend to get lots of email, and I clear the notifications, but that region in AHS seems to get obscured easily rfom the standdard webOS notifications.
THIS APP IS AWESOME.

Wow – This home screen is flat out awesome! I just thought that this would be a great way to add more icons to the launch bar, which is good. Then you also have the quick call phone numbers, better. The calendar display with the next event, even better. Finally there’s the RSS feed! Wow! I’m excited as to where this is headed! I’m telling everyone that you guys are the real deal! Happily donating for you guys to keep up the excellent work!

Ok, you guys should be getting a few mor donations. I spread the word pretty quick. I have noticed another issue. The quick call cards don’t appear in the quick launch bar. I couldn’t understand it for a while and then I realized when I touched the bar in a different area I would get a different phone number.
Thanks for the update!

I would really like to know how to get this app as well. It looks perfect. The calendar is just what I was missing on the pre since I got so used to it on my treo. Would really love to get this app. Thanks

This is almost perfect. Close enough to get me to donate at this early stage. Is there a way already to get the “To Do” part to automatically pull from the Pre’s calendar?

I agree with Jose. I would love to have the “To Do List” pull from the Calendar so I don’t have to constantly add them in. Also would love the “To Do List” to list the events down the homescreen like the Palm Treo’s do. Miss being able to see my upcoming appointments on the homescreen for the week. Thanks, love this app.
